Commercial Retail Refrigeration Buying Guide

Commercial refrigeration must keep products at the required temperature while fitting the available retail space and daily replenishment routine. Compare display capacity, external dimensions, access, power requirements and ventilation—not only the purchase price.

Before ordering a chiller or freezer, check the delivery route and final position as carefully as the unit specification.

Start with product and capacity

Decide whether the unit will hold drinks, dairy, frozen food or another product group, then estimate peak stock levels. Internal layout and shelf adjustment affect usable capacity.

Check the installation position

Record external dimensions and required clearances. Note nearby heat sources, ventilation, door openings, customer flow and access to an appropriate power supply.

Plan delivery access

Measure entrances, corridors, lifts and tight turns between the unloading point and final location. Share access restrictions before delivery, particularly for larger cabinets.
